Attendance Matters!

Students who miss more than 10% of the school year (18 days) are deemed chronic absentees and subject to a school district SARB hearing. Attendance letters communicate student attendance status throughout the school year and require parent meetings (SART, DART) prior to School Attendance Review Board hearings.

Our school staff is here to support your efforts to encourage daily attendance for each child. Elementary students who miss direct instruction, miss valuable learning time that can compound resulting in lower achievement levels and higher risk for high school drop-out in later years.

Please read the attached article regarding the importance of daily attendance. Absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance patterns throughout the year.
